EN-353

EN-353 is a high-grade case-hardening alloy steel known for its excellent toughness, high surface hardness, and superior core strength. This steel typically contains elements such as nickel, chromium, and molybdenum, which enhance its hardenability and mechanical properties. EN-353 is generally supplied in the annealed condition and can be carburized and subsequently hardened to achieve a hard, wear-resistant surface while maintaining a tough and ductile core.

This makes it ideal for components that are subject to high wear and require high fatigue strength, such as gears, shafts, crankshafts, camshafts, and other automotive and industrial components. EN-353's ability to maintain its performance under high-stress conditions and its good machinability and dimensional stability after heat treatment make it a preferred choice in the engineering and manufacturing sectors.
